The Marshall County, West Virginia Historical Society is seeking an Executive Director to manage the Cockayne Farmstead Preservation Project and museum.
Duties include but are not limited to general management as well as expansion of the educational scope of the project. To ensure ongoing local programming excellence, historic preservation of the farmhouse, artifacts, and documents, expansion of local revenue generating and fundraising activities, and the establishment of a stronger brand. Experience writing and administering grants is desired.
Applicant will be expected to provide tours to the public and develop museum interpretation for both permanent and temporary exhibits. A master’s degree in public history, museum studies, history or a related field is suggested.
